Handmade ceramic pottery brie baker in slate blue glaze. Use it to soften brie and other cheeses (such as Camembert and provolone) for serving. This cheese plate is also great for serving dips, appetizers or condiments.
The appetizer dish is 6.25 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. Cheese knife/paddle and recipe card included.
Baked brie is a quick and easy way to entertain in style. I have found that it is often enough to place the baker close to the stove while I'm cooking for the brie to soften. However, to bake it, simply place the cheese in the baker, top with your favorite topping and bake until the cheese softens. Please remember that you must put the stoneware dish into a COLD oven. Do NOT place it in a preheated oven.
Here's one of my favorite recipes for topping:
~~~Baked Brie with Mango~~
Place brie in dish. Spread 2 Tbsp. raspberry preserves on top. Top w/ ½ cup diced mango and sprinkle 1 Tbsp brown sugar. Place in COLD oven; bake at 350 degrees F until cheese softens.
The brie baker will make an ideal hostess gift!
If properly cared for stoneware can be enjoyed for a long time. Never place a dish on top of a burner or in a preheated (hot) oven. Instead, place room temperature dishes in a cold oven and gradually bring the heat up to the desired temperature. Dishes should be filled so food contacts all interior surfaces.
Teapots should be warmed with hot water before filling them with boiling water. The same is true for colanders: never pour boiling water directly into them.
Stoneware is microwave and dishwasher safe. However, please use care. Some items, such as berry bowls, might best be hand washed.
Because of the fragile nature of ceramics, I pack the items in several layers of bubble wrap before placing them in a box surrounded by biodegradable peanuts. In some cases, it is best to ship multiple items is separate boxes to prevent breakage.
I do not offer gift wrapping, but I can include a message to the gift recipient. The message will be printed in a script font in an appropriate blank card or the back of a Glynt Pottery postcard. Please let me know (in the message from buyer) if you are interested including a message with your gift.
